Although many children live within walking distance of their school, blocked roads and congested school gates are still a pretty familiar sight. And with more children travelling to school by car than ever before, it makes sense to give parents and children some school-run alternatives. A school travel plan is the perfect solution.

Walking to school in Sutton increases!

A comparison of 2006 and 2007 survey results show that walking to school in Sutton has increased by 2.6 per cent, while a reduction of car trips of 0.6 per cent has been achieved. This means less congestion around schools, making it safer for kids at peak times. Walking also helps increase children's fitness levels and reduces the risk of diabetes and obesity if done regularly.
